A wrecker was requested to upright the fire truck that was on its side, said police Master Sgt. Gary Knight.

The fire truck, Engine 14, was responding to a commercial fire alarm when it slid on ice and overturned, said fire Battalion Chief Benny Fulkerson. He said there were no other vehicles involved. There was no commercial fire Thursday morning however, just a false call, Fulkerson said. Someone had thought they saw smoke coming from a chimney that turned out not to be smoke, Fulkerson said.
