Fire Apparatus Face Brutal April with Crashes, Thefts

Fire departments around the country saw an unusually high amount of accidents and thefts involving pieces of apparatus.

April isn't over yet, and it's already been a cruel month for fire departments and their fleets.

Fire apparatus have been in an unusual number of accidents—responding to calls in most cases—this month. Rigs also have been the targets of thieves, who've driven off and damaged the vehicles in some cases.
