KME is pleased to announce the City of Philadelphia Fire Department has awarded KME an order for four 100-foot tractor drawn aerials.
The units include a KME Predator Severe Service chassis with a 550hp engine and both RollTek and 4Front occupant protection systems for firefighter protection in the case of rollovers or a frontal impact situation.
The 100-foot steel ladder includes the fire service’s highest and widest handrail and an unrestricted 500-pound tip load. It is the only steel ladder with a 2.5:1 structural safety factor base on a NFPA 500-pound rated tip load. The ladder also features a -7 to 80 degree elevation range.
The tiller is equipped with KME’s “No Post Vision” tiller cab, providing unmatched visibility for the tillerman and the short 147-inch tractor wheelbase allows the vehicle to easily maneuver on the tight streets of Philadelphia.
These units will join KME apparatus currently in service at the City of Philadelphia as well as a heavy rescue command unit also in production.
KME is a leading custom manufacturer of a full range of specialty vehicles for military, industrial, commercial, aviation and municipal markets.
