Dunkirk, MD, Vol. Fire Dept. Puts Elliptical Tanker in Service
The Dunkirk, MD, Volunteer Fire Department, in Calvert County, has taken delivery of a 2019 4 Guys tanker, built on a Mack Granite cab and chassis. It is powered by a Mack 455-hp diesel engine and an Allison 4500EVS RDS 6-speed rugged series Gen 5 transmission with prognostics. to fight fire, it has a Hale DSD 1,250-gpm pump, a 3,000-gallon UPF Poly Tank III Ellip-T water tank, a Trident air prime system, and a Class 1 Total Pressure Governor. Other features include a Kussmaul auto eject battery and air conditioner, Akron Brass valves, an Elkhart Brass intake relief valve, Newton dump valves on the side and rear, a Zico hydraulic 3,500-gallon portable tank lift, Accuride slide-out tool trays, Voyager cameras, Whelen warning and scene lights, a HiViz front LED brow light and a Federal Signal mechanical siren.
