An FDNY firefighter was arrested Tuesday morning for selling drugs outside his fire station in Brooklyn.
Daniel Torres, 33, sold Vicodin and Xanax in front of Engine 279's fire station in the Red Hook neighborhood in August. During one interaction, Torres also gave a sample of heroin to a buyer.
Police arrested Torres Tuesday morning drove from his New Jersey home to work, NYPD officials told local television station WABC.
Police officials said Torres was part of a long-term wiretap investigation.
Torres, who was recently reassigned to the department's recruitment unit, faces charges including criminal sale of a controlled substance, criminal sale of a controlled substance on or near school grounds and multiple counts of conspiracy.
"These are very serious charges that - if true - will result in his termination as a firefighter," FDNY Commissioner Daniel Nigro said in a statement.
