Detroit's firefighters union wants policy changes after four firefighters were trapped battling a building blaze last week.
Three of the firefighters were hurt in the Jan. 31 fire at the vacant grocery fire, and Mike Nevin, president of the Detroit Firefighters Association, told WXYZ-TV that he believes those non-life-threatening injuries could have been prevented. He said the fire department needs more staffing and training.
“This incident right here, we are very lucky that we didn’t lose some of our members,” Nevin told the TV station.
