A fire in a Long Island home claimed a woman and her granddaughter early Sunday morning. A second child survived after jumping out a window.
According to the New York Post the fire in the two-story New Hyde Park home started at about 3 a.m.
The woman, 68, and her granddaughter, 4, were transported to the hospital where they died, the newspaper reported.
The grandson, 10, survived the jump landing on a car and suffered burns and a broken arm, the New York Post reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, but has been deemed non-criminal, according to the report.
