A Camden County man was sentenced to six years in prison and ordered to pay millions in restitution for his role in conspiring to set a Bucks County warehouse ablaze, federal prosecutors in Philadelphia said Monday.

Ramiz Duka, 62, of Cherry Hill was convicted on Oct. 30, 2024 of conspiracy to commit malicious damage by setting fire to building used in interstate commerce.

Duka recruited two men to help set fire to a warehouse at 1388 Bridgewater Road in Bensalem, Pennsylvania and paid them $15,000 to do so, officials said.

He met the men in New Jersey on several occasions and asked them to set fire to the building for the owner who he said was a friend, according to the federal indictment.

Authorities said Duka told the men the owner of the building wanted to collect insurance money from the fire and provided a key for the warehouse, according to the indictment.

On Dec. 10, 2022, one of the men accessed the building and lit multiple fires inside the warehouse, according to the indictment. One firefighter was injured while fighting the blaze after a ladder collapsed, according to officials.

Damages totaled nearly $6 million.

In addition to the prison sentence, Duka was ordered to pay $6.1 million in restitution and spend three years on supervised release.

The warehouse was being leased at the time of the fire by an internet-based book business which stored books and other items at the location, court documents show.

An attorney for Duka did not immediately return a request for comment.
