Florida Crews Rescue Man from Sewage Tank

A Titusville city worker suffered a head injury and broken arm Thursday morning when he fell into a 21-foot sewage tank.

TITUSVILLE, Fla. --

A Titusville city worker suffered a head injury and broken arm Thursday morning when he fell into a 21-foot sewage tank.

The 45-year-old man, who was working at the Blue Heron wastewater treatment facility off Highway 50 west of Interstate 95, was airlifted to a Melbourne hospital in stable condition, Titusville fire officials said.

According to fire officials, the man was climbing down a ladder when he fell about 12 feet to the bottom of the empty tank.

The man was extricated from the tank by Titusville firefighters.
