Largest Gathering of EMS Professionals Starts In Las Vegas

The 20th Anniversary of EMS EXPO, co-located with Firehouse Central, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Firefighters and emergency medical response professionals will come together from around the country to take part in the 20th Anniversary of EMS EXPO, co-located with Firehouse Central, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, October 13-17.

Opening ceremony will be Wednesday morning, Chief Greg Gammon will be welcoming the firefighters and EMS personnel to Las Vegas.

Keynote Presentation: Fire Service/EMS: Then and Now

Randolph Mantooth, professional actor, director, producer and screenwriter, is best known in the EMS community as Paramedic Jonny Gage from the 1972-1979 television series "Emergency!" In his keynote address, Randy takes a behind-the-scenes look at the history of EMS and the television series that helped change the face of emergency medicine forever.

EMS Study Tour:

An EMS Study Tour will embark on a multi-city tour in the western part of the U.S. Oct. 7 to 14, 2008 to encourage a greater collaboration and learning from each other in the EMS community. The diverse tour of EMS and ambulance services will give participants first-hand experience on how departments are resolving and reacting to today's EMS needs. The tour will end in Las Vegas where tour organizers and participants will be speaking with attendees at EMS EXPO on Oct. 16 regarding their learnings and experiences on the tour.

Limited Edition Commemorative Print

A limited edition of 551 20th Anniversary commemorative limited edition collectible prints will be available at EMS EXPO 2008 done by self-taught artist Teri Forero. All proceeds will benefit the County of Los Angeles Fire Museum restoration fund of Engine 51. The artist's story of her inspirational relationship with the fire service industry and signature will appear on the back of the print. All prints will be hand numbered and not offered for sale outside of EMS EXPO 2008.

Conference Program

Industry experts will cover more than 100 important topics during preconference and conference classes focusing on a variety of emergency responder related topics such as leadership, rescue, BLS, ALS, disaster response, special operations, pediatric, planning, survival, plus many more.

Firehouse Central: Hands-On-Training

Firehouse Central will feature three hands-on training programs which allow fire professionals to train in real-life scenarios.
