SACRAMENTO, Calif. --

A smoky two-alarm blaze broke out early Wednesday at a Best Buy electronics store in Sacramento, but no injuries were reported and damage was kept to a minimum by sprinklers, a fire department official said.

Smoke could be seen rising from the building, which is located at 1901 Arden Way.

The flames were reported at about 6 a.m.

Fire crews arrived to find smoke filling the business, leading them to call a second alarm.

"Luckily, this building has fire sprinklers, so the sprinklers activated and kept the fire very small," said Capt. Jim Doucette of the Sacramento Fire Department. "But it still produced a lot of smoke. When our firefighters got here, they couldn't see 2 feet in front of them."

Doucette said the blaze started in a back store room of the store. The exact cause was under investigation, but Doucette said the origin does not appear suspicious.

While some damage occurred in the store room, the main part of the store was not affected, Doucette said.

The building where the fire occurred was also once home to Linens 'n Things, but that store earlier went out of business.
