LOUISVILLE -- One person was killed in a fire that broke out in a Louisville trailer park, police confirmed Tuesday afternoon.

A neighbor told Gum that he was sitting outside, drinking coffee, when he heard the sound of glass breaking and then saw flames. The man then heard a woman screaming for help in Spanish, Gum reported. Click here to find out more!

Another neighbor, Bucky Brooks, best known in the area for having stood trial in a high-profile homicide case, said two men lifted him up so he could help pull two children from the burning home.

The neighbors said they first tried to go around to the back of the home, but there was too much smoke. They went to a side door or window, broke some glass and then lifted the children to safety, Gum reported.

Those two children later were seen receiving life support as they arrived at Kosair Children's Hospital, WLKY reported.

The age and identity of the person who died were not immediately available. It's also not known what caused the blaze, Gum reported.

Several police agencies are investigating at the scene.
