Teen Killed when Ambulance Hits Bicycle in Terre Haute, IN, Intersection
The family of a bicyclist struck and killed by a Trans-Care ambulance in Terre Haute is seeking answers.
While responding to a call on Tuesday, the ambulance struck a bicycle with two children on it. One girl died while the other was critically injured, WTWO reported.
Michael Poulter, who blames the ambulance driver for killing his daughter, Autum, was one of several people who showed up at the intersection on Wednesday afternoon.
“This is not my daughter's fault. No 13-year-old girl should get struck in the road trying to be a kid, out riding a bike. Just the fact that they rolled through here with no sirens and in such a hurry. They were talking about not a high rate of speed. You don’t fling a body 75 feet when you get struck if you are not at a high rate of speed."
The Terre Haute Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Team continues to investigate the wreck, Lieutenant Justin Sears said.
