Boy Killed In Detroit House Fire

A 5-year-old boy was killed in a house fire on Detroit's east side early Friday morning.

Six children and two adults were inside the home on Seyburn Street when the fire started, according to Local 4. The 5-year-old boy was trapped inside, the station reported. The remaining children and adults were able to escape, the station learned.

An adult male tried to return to the home to rescue the boy, but the stairs collapsed, the station learned.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.

The victim's name was not released.
