Illinois Department Sues Firefighter Accused of Fake Leave

A lawsuit targets an Orland Park firefighter who allegedly faked his deployment to Iraq.

Lawrence Masa is charged with theft and official misconduct, and now his department wants repayment of over $193,000 in salary and benefits.

Masa was paid for the 28 months he claimed to be on active duty in Iraq.

They also want over $47,000 they paid out in overtime to other firefighters who filled in for Masa while he was on leave.
