Pittsburgh Firefighter Suspended for Exposing Himself

Fire officials said the flashing incident has embarrassed the department.
A Pittsburgh firefighter accused of exposing himself during Sunday's Steelers game took a sick day, costing the city $300 in overtime, according to WTAE Channel 4's news exchange partners at the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Martin Sanders, 40, exposed himself at a Heinz Field concession stand and resisted arrest, according to city police. Pittsburgh Fire Bureau Chief Michael Huss said Sanders called in sick for a 12-hour shift before the game. He has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of an internal investigation, Huss said. Sanders was charged with three counts of simple assault against police officers working security at the game, two counts of aggravated assault and one count each of indecent exposure, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. "We're very disappointed about this incident," Huss told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "It's embarrassing. It doesn't represent the fire department as a whole." Sanders, a lieutenant from the No. 27 fire station in Mount Washington, is free on $5,000 bond. Related Links:More County News
