Heavy fire was showing from the building when they arrived.

Dallas firefighters battled a three-alarm fire near Love Field early Wednesday morning.

Heavy flames could be seen coming through the roof of the structure on Denton Drive near Roanoke Avenue. The building housed the Mercado Monterrey grocery store and an auto parts store.

Both of the businesses are a total loss, officials said.

Dallas firefighters battleing the fire took a defensive position after the roof began to collapse. The fire then went from two-alarms to three.

Denton Drive is closed at Shorecrest Drive on the northwest side of the airport near Bachman Lake.

Flights in and out of nearby Love Field Airport were not affected.

Investigators said it was too early to determine what started the fire.

There were no injuries reported.
