A firefighter was injured early Friday while battling a house fire on the city's East Side.
The firefighter was helping fight a blaze that rekindled at a vacant home at the intersection of Chicago Boulevard and New Braunfels Avenue when he suffered heat exhaustion.
The firefighter was taken to a hospital for observation, but he is expected to be OK.
The home was a total loss.
