An EMS Lieutenant of the Honey Brook Pennsylvania Fire Company was killed when the car he was driving ran off a rural road and hit a tree.
John Weer, Fire Training Co-ordinator for Chester County said Charles Dievers, 29 left the station on his way to the monthly meeting of the Washington Hose Fire Company in Coatesville. Not much is known about the accident which is still under investigation.
Weer said Dievers worked for the Uwchlan Ambulance Corps where he was an EMT. He had joined Honey Brook in 2000 but had been with other fire companies since 1992.
A resident of nearby Narvon, Pennsylvania, he leaves behind a wife and five-year-old daughter.
There will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, at the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, 753 Mt. Zion Road, Narvon, with the family greeting friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service. The Rev. David Fulmer will be officiating.
