A grass fire in Eagon Minnesota has blackened more than 1000 acres, and is still spreading.
EAGAN, MN -- Reporter Jessica Miles says the grass fire that began last night in Eagan is still spreading, after blackening more than 1000 acres.

In her live report on 5 Eyewitness News Midday, Miles said no one has been injured in the fire, and it hasn't destroyed any buildings.

The fire is burning grass, shrubs and scattered trees on the south side of the Minnesota River, in the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge and Fort Snelling State Park.

The DNR and other fire agencies have kept the fire confined between the tracks and the river, both of which have stopped the spread of the fire.

Watch 5 Eyewitness News later today for updates on these and other fires.
