More than 200 firefighters responded to battle a massive fire at a Brooklyn lumberyard and building supply warehouse on Saturday.
The fire was reported just after midnight at Meeker and Varick Streets, according to NY1.com.
The fire reached five alarms and was brought under control around 5 a.m.
The cold weather and recent storm caused a number of issues for responding firefighters.
"We had a heavy fire situation but we were also battling the cold and it presented quite a number of challenges and water supply issues and safety issues," FDNY Chief of Operations James Esposito told the New York Daily News.
Firefighters encountered frozen hydrants close to the blaze.
