ZOLL Medical Corporation, a manufacturer of medical devices and related software solutions, announced that RescueNet ePCR Suite v6.0 has been designated NEMSIS Version 3 compliant by the NEMSIS Technical Assistance Center.
“We are proud to offer our customers a software solution that is NEMSIS Version 3 compliant. With this new version, our customers will be able to meet the new, higher standard of state and national reporting requirements and will be ready to adapt to the future of data connectivity between health care providers,” said Alex N. Moghadam, President of ZOLL Data Management Products.
NEMSIS Version 3 incorporates new data elements to reflect the growth of the medical community’s knowledge about treating conditions such as stroke, STEMI, trauma, and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. Version 3 is also an important step towards harmonizing EMS data with patient data in the hospital.
"The importance of communicating patient care data between first responders and emergency rooms and hospitals cannot be understated. Nor can it be done without the help of products like RescueNet ePCR,” said Captain Melanie Bates, Project Coordinator for Omaha Fire Department’s ePCR. “Adoption of NEMSIS Version 3 will help OFD provide the most accurate data to the State of Nebraska and federal partners that support our professional growth and development so we can best serve our communities across this great country."
ZOLL has been a long-time supporter of the importance of quality data, health care interoperability, and standards as demonstrated through its participation in NEMSIS and HL7. ZOLL continues to develop technology that aids communities in successful data management and data exchange.
ZOLL’s vision has always been to provide local EMS systems with a tool to understand, optimize, and deliver quality care. The integration of the NEMSIS Version 3 standard into ZOLL’s RescueNet ePCR software moves this vision into reality.
