EAST CHARLESTON, Vt. -- Vermont State Police believe a medical condition may have led to a fire truck accident that killed a firefighter.

Police say Kenneth Frizzell, 55, of Charleston, was returning from a call when he lost control on a steep hill in East Charleston Sunday and hit a telephone poll. Frizzell was killed.

According to the medical examiner, the firefighter may have suffered a small seizure moments prior to the accident. A state inspection of the truck found no mechanical problems that would have contributed to the crash.

Frizzell was on the town of Charleston Volunteer Fire Dept. He was the only person in the fire truck. Police say the truck was totaled.
