Kentucky Firefighter Dies on Duty

A firefighter at a Dow Corning plant in Kentucky collapsed and died at a hazmat incident on Friday.

Jerry W. Stucker, 53, was operating at a hydrant when he suffered an apparent heart attack, according to information posted by the U.S. Fire Administration.

Stucker was rushed to Carroll County Memorial Hospital by fellow EMTs at Dow Corning, according to Charlie Dennis, quality/customer focus manager.

Stucker was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

Dennis said the company offered its deepest sympathy to Stucker's family.

Stucker also was a trustee with the Clifty Six Volunteer Fire Department in Madison, Ind. He had been a member for 26 years.

Funeral services were held Monday.
