Amarillo Firefighter Dies from Injuries after Falling from Fire Truck

An Amarillo firefighter died Monday just before 10 a.m. Monday from injuries he received when he fell from a moving fire truck Saturday night.
04/25/2005 AMARILLO -- An Amarillo firefighter died Monday just before 10 a.m. He died from injuries he received when he fell from a moving fire truck Saturday night while en route to a fire. Twenty-four year old Brian Hunton fell near 3rd and Van Buren.

Hunton had a severe head injury. He had been a firefighter for two years.

Flags at Amarillo fire houses have been lowered to half staff in Hunton`s memory. And members of the Amarillo Fire Department will wear black mourning ribbons on their badges until further notice, according to the fire department.

The fire department, police department, and fire marshal are still investigating the cause of the accident.
