A Kentucky firefighter died of a heart attack while working the scene of a fire call last week.
Woodford County Fire Capt. Ron Ingram, 72, was part of the response to a shed fire around 12:30 p.m. in Versailles, the U.S. Fire Administration stated in an alert Monday. He suffered from an apparent heart attack and collapsed shortly after arriving at the scene, WDRB-TV reports.
Ingram's colleagues performed CPR, and he then was taken to the hospital. He was pronounced dead several hours later.
Ingram had been a member of the department for more than 42 years. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, a son and nine grandchildren.
