CT Fire Captain Passes from Work-Related Cancer

Rocky Hill Fire Captain James Lamarre has died after a battle with work-related cancer.

The Rocky Hill Fire Department has announced the passing of Fire Captain James Lamarre after a months-long battle with work-related cancer.

“It is with deep sadness that the Rocky Hill Fire Department announces the line of duty death of Fire Captain James Lamarre,” the department said in a Facebook post.

Captain Lamarre served with Rocky Hill Fire Department for 27 years in many roles, including that of a career apparatus mechanic.

Lamarre was a proud U.S. Army veteran and was very active in the Benino-Beck VFW Post 2138 in Rocky Hill as a chaplain, the fire department said.
