PA Firefighter Succumbs to Medical Episode

Larksville Chief Engineer Jeff Williams has died after suffering a medical event in the station parking lot.

The Larksville Fire Department is suffering the loss of Chief Engineer Jeff Williams, 56, after suffered a medical event in the station parking lot after he arrived at work.

While in the parking lot, he went into a cardiac related incident and life saving measures were immediately performed. He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased, according to a U.S. Fire Administration press release.

“This morning, our local suffered an immeasurable loss. Jeff was a loving father to two daughters, Caressa, and Rebecca. Jeff will be sorely missed by many,” Luzerne County Professional Firefighters - I.A.F.F. Local 840 said in a Facebook post.

Williams had been on the job nearly 34 years and had served as the Larsville Chief Engineer for the last 7 years.
