This is a great opportunity to attend the 2010 “Assessing Wildfire Hazards in the Home Ignition Zone” training workshop with Pat Durland for FREE! The dates are:
August 19 and 20, 2010 in Blue Lake, California
August 23 and 24, 2010 in Pala, California
This event is being hosted by the Pacific Regional Office (PRO) of Bureau of Indian Affairs, Pala Reservation and Blue Lake Reservation.
There is no tuition to attend; and course materials will be provided, course will begin promptly at 8am each day. Each attendee will be responsible for lodging, travel, per diem, meals etc.
This is a 2 day commitment. Participants will be provided valuable information that will enable them to identify wildfire hazards and how to apply “effective fire prevention response and education in wildland urban areas”. Workshop modules include:

Pat Durland is a nationally known wildland fire expert. He is experienced in all aspects of wildland fire mitigation and suppression techniques.
After a 30-year federal wildfire career he started Stone Creek Fire LLC to continue working as a wildland fire specialist. As a long-time resident of the Boise foothills interface, he knows and lives fire, not only as a veteran fire manager but also from the resident and community aspects.
