Watch: FDNY Crews Battling Multi-Alarm Bronx Building Blaze

March 13, 2025
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries during the fire that destroyed several businesses, an FDNY official said.

Smoke from a five-alarm fire was visible throughout the Bronx Thursday morning.

A deli worker told abc7 that he used a fire extinguisher when he saw flames coming from a building, but he could get the fire out.

As with another recent fire, crews found a vehicle blocking a hydrant in front of the building.

FDNY Commissioner Robert S. Tucker said a ticket has been issued, and he is hoping the judge will fine the violator $4,000 as he did a few weeks ago.

"Please, please stop parking on the fire hydrants," he said at a news conference in front of the incident scene.

The cause is under investigation.
