Oct. 27--ATLANTIC CITY -- Firefighters were able to rescue a man after he fell about 25 feet while doing work at the Golden Nugget.

Fire Chief Dennis Brooks said he believes the man -- whose name was not immediately available -- was doing work on the casino renovations when he fell through the ceiling and landed on a chandelier at about 9 a.m.

A rescue crew was able to use an on-site lift to get up to the victim, whom they put on a backboard. He was taken to AttlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Campus. Brooks said it appeared the man hurt his leg and back, but the full extent of his injuries was not known.
