Tallahassee firefighters were busy with two working fires in less than 12 hours this weekend.
At 3:31 p.m. on Saturday, crews from stations 12, 6, 7, 1 and 2 were dispatched to a structure fire in the 9000 block of Seafair Lane.
The first unit arrived seven minutes later and reported heavy smoke and fire coming from the roof of a single-family residence. Crews conducted a defensive attack on the fire and used multiple handlines in addition to an aerial ladder truck to suppress the flames.
The fire was extinguished approximately 29 minutes.
The homeowner was home at the time of the fire, which casued an estimated $250,000 in damages.
One firefighter was injured and treated at the scene.
The second fire was dispatched at 1:47 a.m. Sunday in the 1900 block of Rain Valley Court.
Firefighters from stations 9, 1 and 2 responded and the first unit arrived approximately nine minutes later. They reported a fully involved camper trailer that had extended into a duplex apartment building.
Crews made an aggressive offensive attack on the fire and the fire was brought under control in under 30 minutes.
Three occupants were displaced as a result of the fire.
Investigators from the Tallahassee Fire Department, State Fire Marshall, and the ATF were called to the scene to investigate.
