Four people were hospitalized and two cops were evaluated by medics after a fire ripped through a Brooklyn home early Friday, officials said.
The blaze that tore through the Chester St. home near Dumont Ave. in Brownsville broke out just before 5 a.m.
As soon as they arrived, firefighters from Ladder Company 120 were told there were people trapped inside an apartment.
FDNY Lt. Salvatore Mirra and firefighters Anthony Edrehi, Trevor Lawrence, Michael Richardson, and Christopher Ferro raced into the building before hoses could be stretched out, finding someone semi-conscious in a building hallway.
Mirra brought the stricken resident outside, then raced back in, where he and his firefighters found a second person trapped in a rear bedroom.
The lieutenant and his team pulled the second victim out of a rear window to safety, officials said.
All told, four residents were taken to Brookdale University Medical Center for treatment. Only one sustained a serious injury, an FDNY spokesman said.
Two cops who assisted at the scene were also evaluated by medics, but didn’t need further medical attention, officials said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation Friday.
