Multiple FFs Injured at 4-Alarm NY Fire

Over a dozen Yonkers firefighters were injured battling a 4-alarm fire on Christmas night.

Yonkers firefighters battled a four-alarm fire in a four-story apartment building that left multiple families homeless and injured over a dozen firefighters on Christmas night.

Firefighters were dispatched to an apartment fire on the 80 block of Elliot Avenue around 11:00 p.m. and crews found heavy fire conditions on arrival.

Many of the firefighters returned to duty to battle the general alarm fire, leaving their families on Christmas day, according to News 12 The Bronx.

Crews worked to contain the blaze while protecting exposures on both sides of the fire building. 

Approximately a dozen families were left homeless.
