Officials say a fire in a $3.4 million Minnetonka Beach home that sent two people to the hospital Monday night was likely a criminal act.
According to WCCO-TV, Orono police said there was a “mental health issue” with the caller who stated there was a house was on fire and someone had gas and candles.
Responders found heavy fire conditions throughout the second floor of the sprawling mansion in the 2900 block of Westwood Road.
Long Lake firefighters, along with mutual aid partners, initiated an interior attack until fire conditions forced them to transition to defensive operations.
Fire crews battled the fire close to four hours before bringing it under control.
Two occupants were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
