Chattanooga firefighters battled a fire that damaged two homes Monday afternoon.
Responding companies could see heavy smoke while enroute, and arrived to a well-advanced fire involving two dwellings, according to a Facebook post by the Chattanooga Fire Department.
Crews worked to quickly control the exposure fire, then focused efforts to control fire involving the primary dwelling.
Between 50 and 60 firefighters used aerial operations in addition to crews on the ground to tackle the fire from all angles.
One resident was home at the time of the incident and managed to escape the burning structure. Firefighters quickly rescued several of her pets.
