Gas Leak Detector

MSA has introduced the Gassonic Observer-i ultrasonic gas leak detector, designed with Artificial Neural Network (ANN) intelligence and real-time broadband acoustic sound-processing technology for a broader leak-detection range and increased sensitivity to smaller gas leaks without interference from unwanted background noise. With the Senssonic self-test function, the device’s electrical integrity and microphone are tested every 15 minutes. The detector features HART and Modbus communication compatibility, along with 4-20 mA output, providing complete status and control capability in the control room. It features ATEX, IECEx, FM, and CSA approvals and is SIL 3 suitable.

Rotary Saw Blade

CUTTERS EDGE has introduced the BULLETBLADE rotary saw blade. Unlike other carbide-tipped blades, the new blade can be repaired and sharpened and used over and over again on the same blade core. In addition to longer life, the blade offers outstanding cutting performance. With the carbide cutters moving three times faster than a chainsaw, the blade can cut through an extremely wide variety of materials. The blade will be available in 12-, 14- and 16-inch sizes with Arbor sizes to fit all rotary saws. The delivery date will be announced on the Cutters Edge website.

Exhaust Hose Reels

REELCRAFT has updated its Series V exhaust hose reels, designed to conveniently store lengths of large-diameter exhaust hose. Designed to divert hazardous carbon monoxide gases away from the workplace, these industrious reels are spring retractable and feature a latching mechanism that maintains the desired working length of hose. The reel features two high quality industrial strength carbon drive springs to ensure that hose retracts every time. Each component is individually powder coated, providing excellent resistance against the environment. Models are available for four- and eight-inch I.D. hose.

Thermal Imaging Camera

ARGUS^® FROM E2V has introduced the Mi-TIC, its first National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)-compliant thermal imaging camera, designed to be significantly smaller and lighter than any other NFPA camera on the market. The NFPA 1801:2013 standard specifies design, performance, testing and certification requirements for thermal imaging cameras used by the fire service during emergency incident operations. There are a number of rigorous tests, including water resistance, abrasion and drop tests. Image quality is checked after every test so firefighters can be confident that there will be a usable thermal image when they need it most.

Badge Cases

STRONG LEATHER has introduced its new line of RFID shielding leather badge cases, wallets, credit card sleeves and ID holder to hang around the neck that protect against unauthorized RF scanning of personal and departmental information. Many credit and smart card IDs have RFID chips embedded in them that contain personal and departmental information. The RFID signal-blocking lining in these products is approved by the federal government (FIPS 201) to block RFID transmissions and help prevent identity theft. The security barrier prevents RF detection at 13.56MHz and in the 860-980MHz ranges. This patent-pending material limits the flow of RF energy between the reader and the smart card.

Ventilation Fan

TEMPEST TECHNOLOGY CORP. has added the VSR Power Blower to its line of variable-speed, GFCI-Compatible positive-pressure ventilation (PPV) fans.
