Bristol firefighters responding to a reported dryer fire ended up battling fire a two-alarm fire in a two-story home that displaced seven people.
The fire appeared to have started on a lower floor and spread into the attic before breaking through the roof.
“Something smells like it’s burning, and then I told her to come to my room, but as soon as we got to my room, it was just smoke, a lot of black smoke, so I went to go open the back door and I couldn’t even see anything,” resident Stephany Avila told WFSB 3 News.
Fire officials said wind played a factor in during operations.
Initially crews were conducting offensive operations but had to transition to defensive operations due to deteriorating conditions.
