Tenn. Crews Use Ropes, Stokes to Rescue Crash Victims

On Feb. 13, members of the Church Hill Fire Department along with Church Hill EMS and Church Hill Rescue Squad were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Highway 11W at Old Union Avenue.

Personnel arrived and found that vehicle crashed over the embankment. Two two occupants were trapped inside the vehicle.

Emergency crews extricated the patients from the vehicle using ropes and Stokes baskets to bring the patients up the steep embankment. They were about 100 feet from the roadway.

The patients were transported to Holston Valley Hospital in stable condition.

Crews were on scene for several hours.
