MARIETTA, Ga.
--
A Marietta teen Wednesday was expected to make a full recovery after being rolled over by a boulder.
All of a sudden I look back, and the rock was falling towards me, said Charles Marlow, 14.
A 1300 pound rock rolled down a slope and pinned the teens legs against another rock as he played on a hill near his home Sunday.
His sister and I tried to move it, but it wouldnt budge, said Dan Marlow, Charles father.
The Marietta Fire Department was called.
It was the first rock on a person Ive encountered on a person in 27years in Marietta, said Deputy Chief Kelly Caldwell.
Firefighters were able to push the boulder off the ground six inches, enough space to free Charles.
Remarkably, the teen only has one broken bone in his foot.
I cant explain it. I think God was protecting him, said Dan.
Charles returned to school Wednesday on crutches to take his finals.
Asked if hed play around boulders again, he said simply, No!
