Man Escapes House Collapse, Gets Away from Baltimore Police

For the second time Sunday, a man got away from police after he was trapped inside a partially collapsed Baltimore home.

For seven hours, firefighters from Baltimore City and Howard County worked to free the man who became trapped after the roof he used to elude police collapsed beneath him.

About 9 a.m., he fled from officers who were pursuing him due to “drug activity," Baltimore City Det. Ruganzu Howard told the Baltimore Sun.

Once on the roof of the vacant home, it collapsed and he was buried by debris.

Baltimore City Fire Capt. Roman Clark told the newspaper that the man was  conscious and talking with rescuers for several hours. Around 1:30 p.m., the lost contact with him.

Crews worked to stabilize the dilapidated structure and remove debris.

Around 4 p.m., Clark told the newspaper that the man was not found.

"I don't want to speculate," Clark said.
