A Washington Township firefighter required surgery after his leg was crushed while battling a fire Saturday afternoon.
Firefighter Josef Tadijanac was rushed to Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus after he became pinned between two tanker trucks at the scene of a blaze at 3695 St. James Road, according to The News Journal.
The 45-year-old has undergone two surgeries to restore circulation from the knee down and is currently recovering, Fire Chief Dave Compton told the newspaper.
No other details about Tadijanac's injury were available Monday night.
The fire originated in the garage and spread throughout the house. It took fire crews from the surrounding area about two hours to douse the flames.
The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause of the blaze.
