Services Set for Veteran Kan. Asst. Chief

Funeral services for a veteran Kansas firefighter are set for Saturday.

Asst. Chief Daniel F. Cool, 71, served with the fire department in Kaw Township (Jefferson County Station 1) for the past 50 years.

On Feb. 11, Cool responded to an emergency call as well as a training meeting.

He collapsed of an apparent heart attack, and was admitted to St. Francis Hospital in Topeka where he died on Feb. 14.

The Rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Friday. Visitation will follow from  5:30-8 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 20 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will be held Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
