Firefighters were dispatched to the EZ Stop Mobil gas station around 3 p.m.
Soon after began battling the fire, a front a front section of the building collapsed into the parking lot and pinned a firefighter, according to Iron Mountain Daily News.
Iron Mountain Director of Police and Fire Services Ed Mattson said the firefighter was trapped for two minutes.
Mattson said the firefighter was taken to Dickinson County Memorial Hospital where they were treated for burns and released.
Another Iron Mountain firefighter was hospitalized for smoke inhalation and a Breitung Township firefighter sustained smoke inhalation and a hand injury.
“Due to building instability and potential safety hazard, Incident Command had equipment brought in from Iron Mountain Department of Public Works to knock the walls down,” a new release from Mattson stated. “This also allowed for firefighters to get water on areas of the fire that were otherwise inaccessible.”
The fire was under control within three hours.
