Close Call as Chicago Firefighter Falls Through Floor

A Chicago firefighter was uninjured and quickly removed from a structure fire after falling through the floor before being taken to a hospital as a precaution.

A Chicago firefighter had a close call Wednesday when he fell through the floor of a burning home in a South Side neighborhood.

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Chicago Fire Department crews had been called to the scene of a residential fire at about 9:35 p.m. in the 6900 block of South Green Street in Englewood when the incident occurred.

The firefighter fell through the floor while battling the flames and a mayday was called, but luckily the member was uninjured and quickly extracted from the structure by his colleagues. The firefighter was taken to a hospital as a precaution.
