Dec. 4, 2021
Three Sadsburyville firefighters sustained injuries when their pumper overturned while responding to a call.

Several firefighters were injured when their pumper overturned in West Sadsbury Township responding to an incident Friday afternoon.

The engine from Sadsburyville Fire Company No. 1, Engine 31-1, was responding to an electrical fire when it rolled over at Old Wilmington Road and Quarry Road around 4:30 p.m. The rig ended up on its roof just feet from a power pole.

All four firefighters on the apparatus were wearing seatbelts, according to a statement released by the fire company. The firefighters were able to self-extricate.

Fire and EMS crews from Keystone Valley Fire Department, Westwood Fire Company Ambulance and TowerDIRECT EMS responded to the scene and treated the injured firefighters.

Three firefighters were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to Fox29.com and were released Friday night.

"It is still too early to determine the cause of the accident, as circumstances leading up to the crash were still under investigation," Fire Chief Adam Grossman said.

The Westwood Fire Company has loaned a pumper to allow Sadsburyville to continue responding to calls.
