Three people are dead after a Kansas City fire truck collided with a vehicle and then crashed into a building in the popular Westport entertainment district Wednesday night.
A pedestrian and both occupants of a Honda CRV died in the collision.
The crash happened as firefighters were responding to a fire while driving northbound on Broadway, KCTV5 reported.
The fire apparatus collided with the SUV, then they crashed into a building causing a partial collapse. It thought that a pedestrian was struck in the violent collision.
Firefighters through the night, digging through rubble and searching for the pedestrian.
The pedestrian’s body was recovered from the rubble around 8:00 a.m., after an extensive recovery effort.
