Two Arrested in Drive-by Shooting of NC Firefighter

A Winston-Salem firefighter was injured after being shot while he was eating with his crew outside a hot dog stand.

Two men have been arrested in connection with a shooting that two injured, including a Winston-Salem firefighter Friday.

Ross Flynt, 29, and his crew were eating outside Kermit's Hot Dog House when a car entered the parking lot and the occupants opened fire around 2:30 p.m. 

Police say Elijah Tyshawn Staton, 18, and Kristan Jevon Allen, 21, were charged with two counts each of Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury with Intent to Kill, and Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Property, according to WXII12.com.

The shooting occurred as another customer was exiting the restaurant, and the car fled from the scene. The rest of the crew began treating the two victims.

Flynn and a civilian were taken Atrium Baptist Medical Center where they were listed in stable condition. 

Police say the motive for the shooting is not clear.
