NJ Firefighter Stricken After Participating in Mandatory Drill

Bayville firefighters are mourning the loss of one of their own.

Firefighter Joseph Letrent, 34, participated Tuesday evening in a mandated drill with his colleagues.

The following day while returning from his job, he suffered a cardiac emergency, the USFA reported.

He was transported to Bayshore Medical Center where he died. 

To date, 31 firefighters have died while on-duty.
