NC EMS Provider Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries when Ambulance Struck

The Mecklenburg crew was working on a patient in the back of the ambulance stopped on the road when it was struck.

Three people, including a Mecklenburg EMS Agency--Medic provider, suffered life-threatening injuries early Friday when an ambulance was struck along a highway in Charlotte early Friday morning.

The crew was in the back of the ambulance treating a patient when it was struck, according to WSOC.

That patient and a passenger in the striking vehicle also were transported with life-threatening injuries while another medic was seriously hurt.

The rig flipped onto its side and sustained heavy damage. 

The investigation is continuing.
